I have a hunting lease in Montague co. I currently work in the Petro-chem industry I travel 10 months a year. I don't have the time to plant spring food plots. I need someone I can hire to plant soybeans in the spring. Anyone know anyone? Thank you THF, Justin

I would check with the feed stores. I might also put an ad in the Bowie Shopper. It's free and everybody reads it.
BTW, where in Montague County?

Considering how low the lake is and most ponds, I would be worried about lack of rain. Let's pray for rain.

+1 on the rain. For the beans to germinate and grow, you need to start with deep soil moisture of 6 to 8 inches. Then, it takes rains for them to thrive.

What would you suggest as a spring plot for that area?

It is hard to beat soybeans for a spring/summer/fall food plot in your area. I am not far from you in Carter County Oklahoma and my plots thrive. I can give a guy a call and see if he would go your way. How big do you want your plot? He charges me $100 for first 2 hours and $40/hr after that (min of $180 job). He lives outside Ardmore, Ok and he would probably have to have a bigger minimum to travel that far. PM me if you want me to ask him.

Not sure what I would plant. Plants with large leaves need more water. *I tried blackeyed peas a couple of years ago but they dried up pretty quick.
