If any exotic enthusiasts out there have had an eland trophy on your wish list - this post may be of interest. We started our eland herd over ten years ago on the Wendy Lou and this bull is now the "grand-daddy" of the herd - in his prime, we believe him to be one of the first to be birthed on the reserve. His maturity, cape, markings and turned horns all make him a wonderful specimen and as fine a trophy as any you'll get on the open grasslands in Africa. He was booked this season but the hunter chose to go with another exotic a few weeks ago, so he's up for grabs again. This bull's a wily one and heads straight into the bush at any disturbance so getting decent photos of him to share have been somewhat challenging. Our long term objective on the Wendy Lou has been to build completely self sustaining large breeding herds of each species we carry with no intervention - other than to plant a few hundred acres of wheat (we have a zero bag feeding policy). We work hard to bring the natural beauty of the African antelope to the Texan hunter in as natural a setting as is possible to achieve on a large high fenced reserve (4750acre). Took this pic about a month ago - heavily zoomed in so not a quality image. Then managed to capture these last week... Suspicious glares from the family!

He looks nice and healthy. I passed on an Eland in Africa a few years ago, and as usual, now I regret it. I'll send you a PM.

I chased eland all weekend and came up short, they are a blast to hunt and great table fare. Someone should jump on this big beast quick.
