There, I fixed it for the younger crowd. I guided the area when I was at Tarleton (2006-2010), and I remember all the stories from the long timers and farmers. I would also have to explain to many folks that wanted to kill mallards on the hunt, that it wasn't like it used to be.

Still a great place to stack the "other ducks" though

Yup, peanuts used to drag in the mallards.

It was AWESOME back before the peanuts left and the upper end of Proctor actually held some water. There was a place that DU had allegedly restored that was especioally good until everyone and their grandma found out about it.

Used to hunt there when Ray Roberts was dry. Made for a LONG day, leave Denton around midnight.

I graduated from Tarleton in 09. I heard of people duck hunting lake Leon up the creek/river. There is also a old blind on the lake. Don't know if it was for hunting or bird watching. You might look into that if you have a boat.

Hunted Proctor and the area starting in '99 and up until last year. Everything pre-2002 was biblical as far as mallards, pintails and cranes. Everything after '02 was decent to good at times...
