LOL,Nice video.
Just curious, why did you pick that particular hog of the choices you had?

Just curious, why did you pick that particular hog of the choices you had? I have pondered the randomness of why we pick THE ONE many times. The preponderance of the evidence seems to be that it is simply random. The ones that got away were happy with my decision.

I have a couple questions.. Is there any reason you did not try for a double? You know, get 2 lined up, let the bullet do what it does, and get a 2-fer.
Next question, what type of ammo are you using? Reloads, or store bought? Brand? Bullet weight? I ask because I've been shooting pigs with the 7.62X39 using Wolf ammo and was not getting good results. I have now switched to the Hornady SST's in 123 grain. I will be trying these out for the first time this weekend. I am a reloader but can't find any component bullets in the 123-140 grain weight for this caliber. You took a head shot so bullet choice was probably not that important. Often times I have to shoot at running pigs after the first shot and this is what I need a better bullet for.

A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

I have a couple questions.. Is there any reason you did not try for a double? You know, get 2 lined up, let the bullet do what it does, and get a 2-fer. Well, unlike some folks I know, I respect any living creature. I don't just kill a hog because I can. If I kill something, I eat it. I realize that not everyone agrees with this and I respect their right to do as they choose. That said, I knew I already had a buck to process. I just didn't want to mess with more. It took me all day today to get both all cut up, make sausage and whatnot, vacumm packed, etc.. It's a chore. Next question, what type of ammo are you using? Reloads, or store bought? Brand? Bullet weight? I ask because I've been shooting pigs with the 7.62X39 using Wolf ammo and was not getting good results. I have now switched to the Hornady SST's in 123 grain. You took a head shot so bullet choice was probably not that important. Often times I have to shoot at running pigs after the first shot and this is what I need a better bullet for. You're gonna be shocked. I went through the same process. The choice is limited and what there is, is generally hard to find. I have had good luck with the Hornady SST, 123's. It does work pretty well in my weapon. However, the most accurate, consistent round I have gound so far is the Russian Brown Bear, 123 grain, Bimetal, FMJ. Cheapest, dirtiest thing out there. It just works for me. I primarily do head shots and know folks will bicker about that. My theory is that you take out the brain and there are no wheels. I almost never have to track a hog. Say what you will, but it works for me...
