The guys feeder is 20 yards from the property line and it sure doesn't make me happy. I haven't ever seen the guy otherwise I would talk to him and see what he says. But I'm thinking I might start my new dump sight just on my side of the property, what are your thoughts?

That's about all you can do. As long as he don't cross the fence, not much else can be done other than making his life difficult from your side of the fence; however, don't obsess over it as it will take away from your time and piece of mind hunting.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

You might want to read the harassment laws so you don't get yourself in a bind. Just be neighborly and express your safety concerns. Also make him aware of what can happen if a bullet passes across the property line. Leave him a nice note and tell him to meet with you or call you.

I recently just put up a camera and 50# of corn to see what is actually coming around their feeder. If something big is coming through I'll go shoot it for them, if not I'm not going to worry about it unless I find anymore of their trash across the fence.

Why is it always such a big deal with blinds on fence lines? Unless he is shooting across the property line, what's the problem?
My neighbors on 2 different sides of me have blinds on my fence line shooting back towards their property. Their feeders are from 20-100yrds from the fence and I don't have an issue with it. I know all of them, talk to one almost daily and we all have an understanding, don't shoot stuff on my side and I won't shoot on your side.
All of us running cams and being on the same page management wise is actually a big bonus. It's easier to pattern deer with several people watching.

http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4670840/Same_deer#Post4670840Here's an example. I have since dug up pics of what we think is him from last year, if it is he made a big jump and put on some trash, and if it is I had him dead to rights last year, but he had busted off his right side so I passed. I hadn't seen him this year so I talked to a neighbor. He's been hitting his feeder usually at night, but I thought he had slipped up and shown up before dark. My neighbor doesn't agree that its the same deer and was going to kill the wide 9 in the last pic. So I posted it here to see what y'all thought. We agree both are mature and I've almost changed his mind to wait for the better buck. Yes I'd like to kill him, but if the neighbor gets him that's fine too, I just want to put my hands on him. There will be more bucks to kill.

We have a neighbor at one of our properties, that has a feeder not more than 10ft from the fence. He hunts it from his cattle pens which are also along the fence. He's not shooting onto our property, so there's nothing to be said. We were seeing at least 4 really nice 130-140 class bucks last season, he got none of them.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

But I'm thinking I might start my new dump sight just on my side of the property, what are your thoughts? Dump site very well could get you a visit from the GW. Happened last year at a ranch near mine and GW made the only guy in camp (who had nothing to do with it) clean up all the carcasses that had been dumped. As long as they are on their land and not shooting an animal across the fence, nothing can be done. And don't hang your hat on the "projectile law", it isn't designed to change the set up of a neighbor and is pretty dang hard to prove.

I plan on attempting to leave him a note on his feeder and see if he will contact me about it, he has a camera set up so he will know who I am .... he could move his feeder to the other end of the lane he is hunting and I wouldnt have any issues just doesnt make me feel very safe knowing somebody is shooting towards me.... As far as a dump site I have other plans besides doing this I would rather be a good neighbor and enjoy hunting with him as my neighbor.

Put a note on his feeder, then your trespassing and he has you on camera. That's a great idea!

It's not how you fall, It's how you get up.

Very few hunters out there are just total jerks. Most I've met are good guys that I have lots in common with. I'm telling ya 2 of the neighbors I have make my life easier. We share trail cam pics and beers from time to time, and we're on the same page management wise. I don't have to worry about "if I don't shoot him the neighbor will" or people messing with my stuff when I'm not there.

On smaller places, I'd rather have them on the fence shooting inward than in the middle shooting outward, toward me

I've really never understood what the big deal is over hunting next to the fence, as long as they aren't shooting towards you. I guess I'd rather have their blind next to the fence and the feeder further on into their property. But as long as they are hunting on their side and shooting into their side, who cares?

That would be where I parked my truck. And let the law take care of it if he shoot it.

The problem with leaving a note on his feeder is that you are then trespassing which is a crime and you cannot argue it if you leave a note. I'd be careful doing that. You may get into more trouble than what it's worth.

My dads place is 100 acres, surrounded on three wides by a 3,000 acre lease (low fenced) ... 4th side is a county road. Deal with lease: we could hunt the fence (stand) and they could hunt the fence (stand). Neither could shot across the fence. If wounded deer crossed the fence, a simple phone call or knock on the door (or camp site) to let the other know a wounded deer was being tracked. Has worked for nearly 20 years. I'm not saying a bullet has never crossed a fence (in either direction) in those 20 years but it has kepted the peace.

It sucks when pot lickers line your fence like that. I had it last year. Took me ten years to get the herd where it is and they put their blinds five feet from our fence. I killed a nice ten last year and had to fire about 45 degrees away from them. They complained and I didn't really care. Especially when I found boot prints on our land that shoupdn't be there. So we hired people to rebuipd that crappy fence and found out that the fence was five feet short of where it should be going there way. So their blinds got bulldozed into the pile of trees that came out.

So what exactly is the proper "buffer zone" where a guy can't hunt his own property?
