couple videos I saw were install but said cstle nut free buffer tubes just screw into the lower, check for a notch in the buffer tube that the buffer detent might stick up through, if its there, then push it down and unscrew I guess.

Looks to me like a strap wrench is all that would be needed.

every video I found shows a big nut that locks it in place. mine has no such nut. The nuts are on the carbine receiver extensions. You have a pistol/rifle type of extension that just screws in.

Put you lower in a vice, remove the buffer and spring, use a strap wrench and twist off the buffer tube. Go slow and put your finger over the detent to keep it from flying into oblivion.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Rifle buffer tubes usually have a flat on the end you can use a wrench on. If your tube does not, then you'll have to use a strap wrench as others mentioned. The indent in the end plate is just to keep it from rotating relative to the receiver since it holds the detent spring and pin in place. It should not keep the tube from rotating.

Strap wrench. Doesnt appear to be staked anywhere so strap wrench should take it off easily unless red locktite was used.

Remove buffer spring/buffer as well as the retaining pin and spring. Then use a strap wrench and unscrew the buffer tube. Should come out unless its loctited in place.

Just unscrew it, dont lose your buffer retainer detent or spring. Also watch out for te rear takedown buffer and spring when you take the endplate loose.

RRA uses red Locktite on there pistols lowers. Sandwich the lower between 2 blocks of wood and place in a vice firmly to prvent from turning. You will have to apply heat to the lower and buffer tube where they join. The heat will "loosen" the red Locktite. Heat the area for about 10-15 minutes. Wrap the buffer tube with a thick piece of leather around the knurled area and apply a large pair of channel locks and turn counterclock wise to loosen. Strap wrench will flex to much. The leather will bite the knurling and prevent the channel locks from marking your buffer tube. Mind the springs and detents.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.
