So being a college student and already having invested more than I should have into my setup. I decided to make my own tumbler. Have been using it for over a year now and is still working great.

I like the way you think! Glad to see a young person making things with what he has to work with, and on a budget. Rare thing these days.

Most folks would laugh at my reloading setup in college.. It was a portable stand with a 12"x12" wood top; and all of my tools and components fit into an old ammo can. It was "set up" in the bedroom of my 640 SF mobile home...

It has been fun growing my setup through the years.

There's a video of it running its the link under the photo. I' polished thousands of rounds with it and have thought about buying one but justify spending 200 on something when I've got about 8 bucks in this excluding the drill

Just an FYI, my Lyman Turbo 1200 has had thousands of brass run through it and is still going strong. They can be had for about $50.

That is cheaper than replacing your 18v DeWalt...

I picked a large tumbler up at harbor freight on sale with a coupon and it cost $50. I did pay an extra $17 for the extended warranty since their products can be hit or miss.

Built this tumbler for stainless media out of some angle, pvc and an old dryer motor. Incredible results with dish soap and water.

Yup, I have an old Cabela's (Frankfort Arsenal) green tumbler with YEARS of tumbling on it that still works like the day I brought it home. It just keeps on truckin'.

Looks nice. A true machinist/welder!! How big is oyur tube? Looks like 4 inch PVC?

Thanks! It's 6" pipe about a foot long. The cap is 4". Changed out the driven pulley after this picture was taken to slow it down a bit.

The rollers are steel shafts in heater hose. One is 5/8 and the other is 3/4, since I had them laying around.

Yup, fill with water a squirt of Dawn and some Lemishine. Comes out squeaky clean and fresh.

I've went through 3 of those things. They just up and quit, something in the wiring or motor goes bad.

Does your pvc drum have any 'agitators' inside, or is it just a smooth piece of pvc?

Also, what are you using for a cap on it?

It has a pair of agitators, 1 1/2" PVC split in half. I put the screws towards the ends so the cap and reducer covers them.

The cap is 4" rubber, Home Depot has them.
