I've been duck hunting for right at 20 years now and have about a dozen freinds with that much or more experience. None of us have ever seen anything like what I have seen twice this week. I was working near a chemical plant with a high line that runs through a marshy area in south LA. I look up Monday evening and there is a duck sitting on an electric line. It was pretty comical watching it try to balance. Wednesday evening I'm back at the same spot around the same time and he shows up again to practice his balancing act. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this? I have a photo but don't have access to a PC for a while. Is there anyone willing to help me get it posted from my iPhone? Send me a PM please.

Forgot to mention that it was a black bellied whistling duck! I saw a few of these and a few black ducks just about everyday out here. I leave work with drool on my chin!

Those things are pretty good at landing on tree branches though I've never seen one on a powerline. That's pretty odd.

When I lived in Colorado there was a canyon near my home that the Colorado river went through, and the Canada geese would build nest on the larger edges of the cliff faces a couple hundred feet above the water in some places. Never seen anything like it!

Nope it wasn't a water turkey! Whistler for sure. My phone camera just isn't good enough to get better pic from 75 yds away. I have my real camera with me today and hope to provide a better pic if he shows up again.
