...In a galaxy far far away...

Source of original info: Retailer site - I'm not affiliated to them

Recent information that the scope actually exists and is hitting the shelves in the United Kingdom (U.K.) Link to user info

From the above post here are a couple of photos of the scope on a guys gun.

So to summarize:

A 5x42mm fixed magnification optic that can see in the dark, record video, and take advantage of IR light (invisible to naked eye) for under 800.00.

Game Changer!!!

Post any info you guys find on this until we actually start to see them in the U.S.

Thx,

BB

Does this mean you weren't happy with the functionality of the DFA demo?

I was pleased with the DFA, the video for that review is "optimizing" still, has 4 hours to process.

Making videos isn't - Point and Click crazy

I should have the DFA info up tomorrow.

This Photon is a whole other animal on its own and I look forward to taking it for a test spin too rifle

Good deal...in due time I am looking forward to your initial thoughts.

The Sightmark does look interesting, and at a consdierable savings to the Pulsar DigiNV options. I am beginning to think this is an explosive time for the digital NV market.

I'd be very interested in one of these. Looks like they are already a good bit behind on their projected delivery date...

I am NOT confident about the Sightmark brand, but maybe they are changing?

Called Optics Planet about availability since they have been expecting this product since March. They say that they may have it by the middle of next month, but are at the mercy of the supplier. No promises...

I can't find anything on this scope from the Sightmark site. If they aren't even listing it as their product yet, then it may not be coming out very soon.

I take it that since the only Shot Show footage of this unit is at the booth that none were available for demo on the press/range day. That may be telling as well in that they may not have had any units that were ready and/or reliable.

Based on all above - I had thought of everything about the Photon as rumor up until I found the U.K. Thread.

Typically when they start getting their hands on things we see them 6 months later, that's based on the digisight and dfa units.

Branding could change I suspect, so far all yukon digital products have been reliable and I assume the Photon would come out of the same factory.

will it work as a daytime scope? as for Sightmark as a brand, they own Pulsar night vision and no one is badmouthing them

I did see several comments from folks not too thrilled about the DFA. It seems like they were having a difficult time figuring it out. Time will tell...

Sightmark might own Pulsar, but that doesn't mean that they are one in the same. Sightmark products tend to be largely budget-minded and some are downright cheap (in every aspect).

I am actually hopeful that the new scope hits the proverbial ball out of the park. If it turns out to be a useful and reliable 200 yard scope, it is inexpensive enough that I would be willing to buy one or two to put on rifles for my guests. However, the brand in general, the various delays in introduction here, and the fact that they don't even list the product on their own website is troubling. At this point, they seem less excited about the product than we are.

I went through the UK thread. It doesn't appear they are having much luck getting the product either.

The US importer (Sellmark) is expecting the first shipment of scopes this Fall.

So we still have a few months to watch for info on the wire about how it goes for the guys in the U.K.

You are reading it correctly, that is probably street price.
