Aoudad can be great but remember they are sheep. You have to remove bunches of staffing and small glands in little pods that are fat looking. How you remove them is to de-muscle every thing. In other words separate each muscle. In between the muscles is where these glands are and Trust me. Aoudad are great eating. I think much better than wt and a whole lot more meat. I have eaten old and young and the young are a little more tender but I slice the muscles, de-vaned, de-straffed, and de-glanded, into steak cuts thick and cooked medium rare, just like my beef. I do use a blade tenderizer before I marinate. Even if your are using for sausage I would still de-muscle and remove glands. Enjoy - You will not be disappointed.

36 miles south of Rocksprings.....Campwood? Montell? Also, how are those piggies getting in? Looks like you have a pretty good fence around the feeder?

That area of Texas has really become quite the "zoo" indeed.
I'm jealous of the Axis.
Don't bother eating an Auodad. Buzzards don't even eat them. Don't believe this....Auodad is actually quite good if you cook it right. I Slow smoke mine for about 2 hours Making sure it is well done, and eat away. I use rib rub on it!!

I've hear opinions that differ on Aoudad being good to eat. Thanks for the advice.

How many acres do you own and do you have any trouble with illegal? Thinking about looking in that area in a couple of years but wife is worried about illegals coming in.

Down between rocksprings and Del Rio off of 377. I put a 52" hog panel with 6 16ft sections around the feeders. One does not have fencing yet, but we have the fence panels to build 4 more pens and the t-posts. R

How many acres do you own and do you have any trouble with illegal? Thinking about looking in that area in a couple of years but wife is worried about illegals coming in. We had one on a game cam once.. but the guy next to us had them in his cabin. They came in, ate his food, drank his water, wore his swim trunks, swam in his pool. Washed everything, folded it all and left a note on top thanking him for the use. Don't believe the hype.. it is not as bad as one would think. We have 330 acres between Rocksprings and Del Rio.. best purchase we ever made. R
