i bet you thought you had lake record bass when that catfish hit that cranky..... For a minute I did. When you set the hook and it feels like you hung a rock, you know it's a good one. But when he headed for deeper water and the bottom, I knew what he was. I hooked him in about 18" of water amidst some rocks. What was funny about the deal is that we were pre-fishing for a tournament. We stopped at this place because it always has a couple of nice bass. We got into the big Sandbass (all over 2 lbs) so we were just goofing around catching and releasing them. We probably caught 100 fish with maybe 120 casts. Two guys were anchored on a brushpile about 200' from us fishing for Crappie and not catching a thing. We could hear the occasional references to our heritage when we'd release the Sandbass. When I released the Catfish, it was more than they could stand. They started hollering at us complimenting us on our intelligence. I never saw them catch a fish.

We caught a stripper at the boat ramp one morning and took her out with us. BIG MISTAKE!!! She never shut up. Finally we got another boat to take her back to shore. Be careful what you wish (or fish) for. You might just get it.
