I have never used anything other than a riflescope on my rifles. I bought an M&P 15-22 that I like to shoot out to 100 yards and am pondering the idea of experimenting with red dot or holographic scope. I don't plan to hunt much with it, mainly punch paper. I don't want to drop a lot of $, due to this being a casual plinker type set up. Does anyone have suggestions on a simple, effective set up?

I appreciate it.

Mike

Check out Primary Arms and their line of red dots. Budget minded with good value - pretty much perfect what you're looking for. Good luck!

I have several PA red dots. Their magnifiers are decent too.

Another one you may want to check out is Sightmark.

redfield if suppose to come out with a red dot laser combo unit for a very reasonable price. Should be hitting the shelves soon if not already

Primary Arms, Love mine.

https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms_30mm_Red_Dot_p/primary-arms-30mm-red-dot.htm

They run out quick and then usually it is a month wait to get them again. THey are in stock right now, plus they are a texas company with great customer service.

We have the Bushnell TRS-25 mounted on my son's. Mounted with a UTG medium height riser gives him co-witness with his back up Magpul back up sights. There is a 20% rebate going on right now with the TRS-25 as well.

Ive got a truglow on my AK. No complaints so far. A .22 isn't going to knock a scope out of zero. Not enough recoil. I wouldn't spend more than about $80 on one.

I put a cheapo truglo on my m&p15 and it works good for a plinker. I got it for 30 from dicks till I save up enough for the scope up I want. I'm very happy with the truglo for the price and it should work great for a .22

Primary arms all the way. For non combative use red dot they are hard to beat. They have held up phenomenally well and great customer service. In fact it's made me think really hard about buying another aim point.

I bought a Sightmark reflex sight, the QD model. Should be here in a few days. Thanks for the input.
