My Son, Vance, Nephew, JV, and myself made the Lake Somerville Doe hunt this year. Shotgun slugs only, we used Winchester 1 oz slugs and rifle sighted smooth bores. Zeroed in for an effective 80 yd range.

Vance got 1 deer, JV got 3 and I got 3 for a total of 7 deer.

The park personnel and facilities were great. We had a wonderful time.

The slugs hit like the hammer of Thor! Within their effective range they are just devastating to the deer. Bang flop when you hit them in the shoulder area.
