My first gobbler and first bird of the spring season. Taken with an AR-15(cause that was all I had with me) around lunch time today. I was out working on the ranch and saw them, stalked them, and took this gobbler. Beard is about 10" long, spurs about 3/4" long. Beautiful spring colors. I've got plans for this guy for Easter lunch.

Good looking bird. I love wild turkey dinners.

Hope the rifle didnt tear him up much. generally if you shoot base of the neck above the beard you dont destroy the breast

I swapped mags for FMJs before I went to where the birds where. Great shot at the base of the neck, didn't tear much up at all which I was glad to see.
