Last weekend I was able to take a Red deer hind to fill the freezer up a bit after only taking one buck this last deer season. I tried here and was unable to find a elk cow somewhere I could take the whole family on the weekend I was able to get away. I found Elk Meadows ranch near De kalb or New Boston online and was not sure but.... The accommodation were GREAT and my wife was able to hang out at the cabin while I hunted and I was able to fish and shoot really close to the cabin as well. And my 5 year old got to shoot my blackout for the first time and then took a hog! (she has been working with the .22 for a while!) Anyway I got a great Red Deer hind that is now at the processor and I was able to go hunting and take the family which makes the weekend better!!!! Cant wait to go back and here are a few pics..

Call Randy at Elk Meadows 903-314-1090 to book and I can guarantee I will be back and by the way I had the cabin for the weekend and shot the red deer hind for about the same as I shot an elk cow before with no accommodations or extras!!!!

Randy (the Guide at Elk Meadow) asked her if she knew why we hunted??????? He asked my 5yr old and my wife and then me....

I answered with all the typical .. Conservation, food.........

and he said the most important reason was.

The Memories!!! with Family . Hunting together and spending time together!!!!!

I will remember this trip as long as I live! My family has spent time at my lease and with me hunting but this was the best trip together so far!

Very nice looking place. I may have to take the kiddos up there for fishing and a little pig killing.

Great story!

Congratulations.
I have been hunting with Randy at Elk Meadow many times.I make an annual bow hunting trip for hogs. This year I took my boys (12 and 9) over Christmas break. They each shot a big boar. The 12 yr old shot a pretty fallow doe and the 9 yr old shot a Red Stag (cull). Great place for the family.
