This is my first season to turkey hunt. I have a few questions for you guys with more experience. First, is cleaning a turkey like cleaning a huge dove? What exactly do I need to do? Are there going to be any suprizes? Also, how do I take the fan off to mount it? Thanks

grab that skin in a ball at the back and cut it off with a knife then trim as much meat as you can off, follow up with borax pouder to dry the meat out. Use pin's to hold the fan spread open on cardboard or wood when you borax it cause that's how it is going to stick. Then hotglue to a plaque. Best bet is to buy a 30 dollar mounting kit from cabelas comes with instructions powder everything you need. Cleaning the bird is a personal preference I personally usually just breast them out. When I do clean the whole thing I gut it first from between the leg's under the breast bone. Then I get a hot pot of boiling water. If you dip the bird in it the feathers will rake right out easily. It is a huge mess and pain to pluck it dry!
