How supple is the leather? I've been thinking about buying a nice leather strap but, the ones I've seen have been pretty stiff. I really don't want to have to break one in to put birds on.

I got erniejs, here on the forum, to built me one this year and it's freaking sweet. It has my name and my dogs initials on it and if I need to, I could pull someone out of a ditch or a mud hole with it. It's for real and never going anywhere. First time I used it, it worked flawlessly.

I got some from John at Otis for my groomsmen. I need one for myself now.
