The Cabela's in Allen will be having a Turkey calling contest in late March. Not sure about the details yet, will post them once I know. Should be on their wensite in a couple weeks.

I still prefer to let the real thing judge my calling abilities even though I have won a division in one state calling contest. Those turkeys that wear socks are a lot more critical than the wild birds most of the time.
Preston Pittman did a tape in the 90's titled all judges that pretty much summed up the difference in calling for hunting and calling for contests.

I have found simple and subtle seems to work best in real life for turkey hunting.
