For your consideration: http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/...enate-bill?liteI quote: Assault weapons ban dropped from Senate bill By Kasie Hunt and Mike Viqueira, NBC News The assault weapons ban won't be included in major gun legislation set to take shape this week -- all but guaranteeing it won't pass Congress. The ban hasn't been expected to pass, but the way Democratic leaders have decided to handle Sen. Dianne Feinstein's proposal means that she might see a dozen or more Democrats vote against the ban. Feinstein said she's "disappointed" that it's turned out this way. She said that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told her about his decision at a meeting Monday afternoon. Not surprised at all. I also think that the limit on high cap. magazines will be limited to 15 rounds not 10.

Maybe some of the panic will start to subside and prices will start coming back to what they should be now. I'm sure it'll take a little while, though. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/03/...waning-support/

This was the democrap's way of making a solid run at the house in 2014. If they got any kind of gun control measures through now, it would have undermined alot of the weaker current democrat seatholders' chances of being re-elected. Look at '94. 40 some odd years or more of a democrat controlled house was destroyed because of the 1st illegal gun ban. They learned a very important lesson and they won't be repeating it anytime soon. This was all smoke and mirrors from the get go.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein said she will be able to offer her ban on the military-style firearms as an amendment. Feinstein is all but certain to need 60 votes from the 100-member Senate to prevail, but she faces solid Republican opposition and likely defections from some moderate Democrats.
"I very much regret it," Feinstein, D-Calif., told reporters of Reid's decision. "I tried my best."
What is in the water in California that keeps bringing that woman into power?

So, does anyone think a magazine capacity limit will have a better chance of passing now?

So, does anyone think a magazine capacity limit will have a better chance of passing now? No, I think more people then are willing to admit know the guns nor the magazine are the issue. Leaving the schools unprotected was the biggest mistake made. They honestly thought that by putting up a sign stating "no firearms allowed" would stop a crazed, mind warped, 20 year old bed wetter, who spent 20 hours a day in the basement playing computer shoot 'em up games for the last 4 years from shooting the place up to score points. Just let the teachers that want to carry, carry and go on about the business of teaching.

I still think they're going to try to tax the daylights out of ammo. I've heard 50 cents/round bounced around a lot.

Folks are gonna start offloading those extra ARs pretty soon. Time for a few of us to get that AR at a nicely reduced price.
This is a strategic move by Senate Dems. By pulling the amendment, they can vote on it when they have more support. This isn't over.
Regarding Feinstein, she looks like Emperor Palpatine...

So, does anyone think a magazine capacity limit will have a better chance of passing now? Yes I think so too. Reduced capacity is probably going to be looked at as the "lesser" of the restrictions and have more support. I think they may also try the whole "ammo tax" thing. The tax idea on ammo will kill a lot of participation on the shooting public. NONE of it needs to pass, it's all restrictive one way or another. Ammunition already carries like an 11% FAET currently. I don't care about the semantics folks want to play, any further restriction is infringement no matter how they "phrase" the language.

Too bad feinstein won't just climb back on her broom and fly back to California to sulk. She is still gonna hang around to figure out more ways to cripple America.

Oh, and yes, look for the EPA to start the push to ban lead ammunition in favor of "green" ammo. The services have already been pushed in that direction, and they are complying in most cases.
In certain German states, you can't hunt with lead ammo as of this year. Hessen, Rheinland Pfalz and Niedersachsen have banned lead ammo and other states with Green Party leadership are trying to enact the same laws.
It can happen in the states, seeing as the EPA is the environmental law enforcement wing of a liberal government.

"They are doing it already, we should too!" is the normal B.S. They haven't met a regulation they don't like and they'll continue to look for "creative" ways of stripping away our rights one layer at a time. Slowly, so the sheeple don't protest too loudly.

No offense intended, i was venting about the ammo situation and hype. As far as i understand most "green" ammunitions are made of sintered bismuth or compressed powdered polymers and alloys with some differences in primer components. As far as effectiveness, there are studies that show a distinct lack of penetration on thicker hides, as well as reduced range in some calibers. There is also a company that is making a polymer cased centerfire ammunition right now... http://www.pcpammo.com/I never understood how both lead and copper, which are both elements, are considered toxic to the environment, where as some strange co-coplymer compound that may never assimilate into the earth again is A-OK. But then again, we are dealing with Nuevo-Bolsheviks here. The power to tax is indeed the power to destroy.
