Instead of spending a bunch of money and going somewhere for spring break my buddies and myself went back home and hunted and fished all last week. We had quite a week to say the least. Killed 3 coyotes and a fox with my foxpro, pulled out 29 bass from an old uranium pit by my house, pulled out 7 yellowcats over 20 lbs and a 25 lb gar on bank and trot lines in the river, and then caught a 37in black drum in the Corpus Christi ship channel! Here are some of the pictures from our weeks worth of fun. We had an absolute blast and besides beer and gas expense didn't spend a dime. Can't beat bein a good ol country boy! Hope y'all enjoy.

33 lb, 27 lb, and 39 lb

39 lb, 27 lb, 7.5 lb goo, 5.5 lb, 3.5 lb blue

most of the gang and our 5 day haul of fish

Old pit that we bass fished

No monsters but they eat well

First nights run of the lines and another foxpro victim

all but one of the big yellows

another shot of all the big cats; L to R 21 lb, 33 lb, 39 lb, 28 lb, 22 lb, and 27 lb

And finally the big drum to cap of the week

Furb - We were out there friday from about 1-3 and then again Saturday from about 11:30-1:30 or 2.

SmithR - We definitely weren't winning any fashion shows haha. Definitely made for some priceless photos though. We have enough fish to feed a dang army now haha, going to be quite a few fish fries ahead.

Small world for sure haha. Think we counted 31 boats anchored up out there Saturday. Lots of people pulling out drum. How many did y'all end up with?

3 landed, two broke off, couple hard heads and small 18" Hammerhead shark, we were using bay tackle, 7' med cast and spin rods, 201 curado and 2500 stradic, so took us a minute to get the big ones in.

I definitely remember watching y'all reel in a couple and also watching one of y'all break off once. Sounds like a good day. They're definitely a fun fight. What bait were you using?

Throwing out live shrimp we had ripped the heads off, two shrimp per hook. We had spent the first of the morning trying outside traylor, over at San Jose outside allyn's bight, copuple spots of the ICW, then just told my friend screw it, I'm taking us to atleast reel in something. He had a blast and right before we hooked our first one he saw the boat next to us land one on an offshore rod/reel, turned and said "I think we need bigger Equipment" then the fight began.

Yea we had a slow go at it everywhere else we tried as well. One of the guys I was with went with his brothers and dad on friday and one of his brothers hooked into one on like a 6 1/2 or 7 ft rod with a lighter spinning reel and 15 lb test haha. Took him 45 min to land it.

Awesome!
