If a migratory bird commits suacide are you allowed to pick the bird up and place it in the freezer to be mounted? Haha my aunt owns a pond east of Rockwall and the past few times I fished it bwt, gaddies and mallards are usually their. They spook when I get close and never fails one or two will hit a power line and fall dead. The land has huge electic lines, that I guess have a strong current cause you can hear it humming. It's kinda funny to see, but not you know. this is not a real question, I guess the question is has anyone else seen this? And why do they die, I see birds on power lines daily none of them are shocked, is it the water or higher volts or just freak accident.

No the question is not serious, but I am serious about the birds hitting the lines. The first time I ever saw it I looked at my cousin and asked if that really just happen, kinda feel bad for them, idk why they can't see the wire. I never thought anything like this would happen, you see hundreds of birds on power lines, maybe these are different.

That's why it's strange the lines are not regular, they look to be bigger in circumference .

I don't know the answer to your question but I do know that it's ok to let your dog fetch them up, then pose for photo's while wearing camo at the back of your hunting vehicle

if you can hear those lines humming then they have probably more than 230 kV and are considered super high voltage. if this happens often as you say then I would be willing to bet that due to super high voltage and the ducks being wet still from taking off from a pond enhances the capability of a shock to happen
