I just posted on another thread that working dogs have enjoyed an exemption from the confining and expensive pet-related legislation, thanks to efforts headed up by Rep. James White and the Lone Star Working Dog Association. Now a bill has arisen that puts our sporting dogs in the cross hairs. People have recently posted about the increasing expense of hunting dogs. If this bill passes, expect those costs to escalate, to find it much harder to not only purchase a pup, but to even find one. This could well put a lot of small breeders out of business as the goal is to turn sport dog breeding and sales into a large, regulated industry.

I, for one, will never submit to an impromptu intrusion on my personal property under the guise of an "inspection." It simply won't happen. elmer

NOW is the time to be contacting your representative and raising cane about this.

What else, of the things that we value, is the sponsor of this bill, Representative John Kuempel (RINO-Seguin) against? His constituents should be looking hard at his record. He is no advocate of sportsmen. Liberals like this need to get ousted before Texas ends up like Cali-rado.

James White is my rep. I worked with him on the Working Dog Preservation bill. We stay in touch, so it was sort of a moot point for me to reiterate my feelings, since he knows clearly where I stand on most things.

There needs to be a lot of noise made about this. Folks really need to understand how it will impact the price & availability of gun dogs. Just another way to cut the legs out from under sportsmen, the countries largest group of 2A supporters.

As soon as I read what the bill proposes, I emailed my state rep and senator my opposition to it. I don't need or appreciate any outside help from the state managing my kennel, and I know you don't either.

If a kennel is not a healthy place, the dogs won't thrive, and your not going to stay in business long term, whether you are a breeder, outfitter, whatever.
