was hog hunting at my lease in jack county this weekend and saw a group of jakes of about 8 birds and 2 different groups of long beards with 5 or 6 in each also saw a pretty good group of hens on the other side of the property. I have a couple of roost on the property I hunt and heard them fly up to roost and I heard them fly down in the morning but there was no gobbling at either time.

I was putting out a couple of game cams yesterday in Gonzales County and heard gobbling.

That sounds promising. Last spring was terrible on our Ozona lease. Didn't even see birds in town like previus years.

turkeys were gobbling like crazy yesterday morning around 9:30 in Jack County and yes unfortunately have hens with them already.

Hunted Atascosa county about 12 miles south of Jourdanton. Turkeys everywhere but all were henned up and not responding to the calls. Ended up getting one but had to put the stalk on him. He was with 15 hens. Saw several other Toms strutting with 3-5 hens each all day long.

Not Ozona, but just following up for the Junction area....hit it this morning, covered up in four different groups of hens over two hours....and then Tom showed up. Nailed him at 135 yards, and ended my 6 year drought with the turkey! Short beard, but 1-1/4" spurs and 22lbs. Going after it again in the morning....good luck everyone.
