Well a couple of buddies and I just got back from 5 nights of camping, fishing, and having a damn good time at the Devils River. Thought I would show off some of the pictures I got. It was an amazing time in an amazing place. Fishing was slow, or maybe we are just inexperienced, but everyone we caught was nice.
View from a cliff we hiked first morning:

Pretty flower, anyone know what kind?:

Smallie, the cliff in the background is where the first picture was taken:

Serene afternoon on the rio:

Largemouth:

Rio Grande Beaver:

Dolan Falls:

Very old Trans-Pecos Indian cave writing the Park police officer took us too:

Finagin Springs, 20,000 gallons a minute flows from the cliff on the park riverfront:

Great pics.

That place would be sick with a fly rod.

actually not that much, kept covered up with long sleeves most of the time when fishing. It was pretty brisk with a wind and the water was COLD, so we did not swim a whole lot. A trip down the river is definitely in my future at some point.

slept on the ground most of the nights, had a tent in case of rain...access for canoes/kayaks is not the greatest. At the SNA it is about a mile hike to the river from the parking area, we used a modified big game cart to carry it. It is a rough road and uphill both ways. Luckily the guys that worked there let us keep our canoe/fishing gear at the river so we only had to do haul it twice.

Buckrage-it is pretty much close to nowhere, the 22 mile caliche road is off of highway 277 between Del Rio and Sonora

Great shots!
