Before I buy them new and pay way too much for what they are, anyone have any they no longer use? Send me a pm with what you have if you do.
TIA

A friend made a couple of those, and we sued them for training only a few times. I'm not sure if he stil has them. We had a problem with them because the birds would not always fly. I got along pretty well without them. Here's an example from my THF training seminar;

This is her first day on birds. I train alone, so I had to plant the bird, where I could wrap the CC around a bush. Notice the slack CC.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I've never used one, I have remote launchers. I've had pretty good luck just dizzying the bird and hide it under some grass. Then when it's time to flush, just go kick it up. Using homers it's no big deal if they leave before I'm ready, they just go home. Quail usually stay where you put them for an hour or so and I use a call back box to gather them back after training.

Nice Bill. I use a stake out ring on my CC and a stakeout. No bush needed. Remote launchers don't really fit my mentally free self regulating training plan, at least not at this stage.

I have been behind on my training due to different family health issues and admit there has been some self discipline issues on my part sticking with my training plan, but I am getting there. I have been improvising until now, and need to step it up. So working on a solution to my training bird situation and getting the proper equipment for my personal training plan. Which involves training me as much as the dog BTW.

My source for the cheaper tip ups was sold out and I don't have time to build my own right now, so thought I would ask.
They fit into my training plan, but it seems like it would be an item many might use for a short time and move on to something else.
