Yeah but it still has to pass the House and Senate. Will be interesting for sure. Now mods do as I say and move this to the Gun Legislation section.
To be determined

Love this.......y'all need to remember who is standing up for your 2A rights!!! Thursday's debate included a fiery clash between Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the ban's author, and outspoken freshman conservative Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Cruz said Feinstein's bill would create exceptions to the Second Amendment and asked her if she would favor exemptions to the First Amendment's freedom of speech by denying that right to certain books. Quote from the article:
"Thursday's debate included a fiery clash between Sen. "I'm not a sixth-grader," said a visibly upset Feinstein. She described her decades in Congress involved in gun control debates and said, "I'm reasonably well-educated, and thank you for the lecture.""
Here lies the issue with Ms. Feinstein and those of her ilk. Vanity. This isn't about public safety, this is about proving who has a "better point" and is "smarter". Looks to me like she is saying she knows better than everyone else. She's pushing an incorrect philosophy and won't back down in order to save face. Breathtaking hubris on display yet again.
I love how these out of touch dolts "feel" they are better than everyone else and can dictate their emotional ideals on the unwashed, ignorant masses. The flip side is folks like Ms. Feinstein just keep getting voted back in, so you get what you choose.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

What do they consider a "military feature"? That could be almost anything. If they actually got that enacted they could use that term to say detachable mags and guns that accept them are also illegal. Thank goodness the idiots do not control the house.

Scariest quote came from Sen. Blumenthal a few days back..."These are only incremental steps." In other words, the various things they are passing through committee are just the beginning, not the end. And when they pass something and it fails to stop killings, which it won't, they take it to the next phase...My Remington 700 30.06 now becomes a "sniper" rifle, and is outlawed...

Does all the crap the hippies try to do to us normal people ever make you wonder what it would be like if the south had won. Slavery aside.

The real test will be on the Senate floor and that is where I'm confident this thing will die. The writing is all over the wall.
1. Harry Reid states that the Senate is "too busy" with other issues to bring this to the floor immediately. Yea right! When they wanted Obamacare, both the House and Senate sure found alot of time and urgency to put that on the floor as opposed to something insignificant and brand new issue like approving a federal budget. (that last part was sarcastic.)
2. While some of you will kill me for the following, I;ve always said Obama is not an idiot. Misguided and idealistic, yes but dumb no. Even he has changed his tone in the last several months so he can position himself to say he tried everything but it's those dirty Republicans and other back water hillbillies that aren't allowing this to go forward. He's doing that because I knows (but can't publically say) that this particular issue and the mag cap are unwinnable for him. If he thought there was a reasonable chance to pass, he would act like it was all him who made it happen. Even Feinstien has to urge the President to help push this through. If Obama wasn't actively trying to distance himself from it, then why would she publically have to urge him?
Notice in the state of the Union, he did not ask to pass an assualt weapons ban, but to take a vote.
Rush Limbaugh had a great piece yesterday about how Obama is the master at making himself seem like the outsider in Washington. He did it well in his first term with Republicans and now you'll find more and more him doing it with liberal issues that he doesn't think the Dems in congress can win. I've always believed he is more concerned with his legacy than even pushing the liberal agenda.

Reid gets an A+ rating from the NRA every year. He likes where he is and will try to stay there.

Feinstein as usual is disgusting. Her reponse to Crux was not intelectual but rather childish. He raised a legitimate question about her thinking that she and others like her can modify an amendment to our brloved constitution via a legislative vote VS the establihed constitutional process. Her response is I am not a 6th grader, I have been here for more than 20 years. My response is she has been an idiot for 20 years so time has not been helpful in improving her understanding of the constitution or our 2nd amandment. God Bless our new senator!!! I hope he continues to challenge the old guard and is strong enough the withstand the deluge from the progressive elite

Cruz made some valid points. Feinstein, like a deer in headlights, had no answer and fell into indignation.
She did, however unknowingly, make a great argument for term limits!

Harry Reid told Diane Feinstein no to the AWB and magazine limits yesterday.
