Just wait till those suckers fill up with mud. Those tires look like a great idea (almost). It will probably work in Texas in the thin mud. Won't work in Louisiana in the serious mud.

They look great for south Texas thorn brush.

I think you will be surprised how they handle in the mud.

Own land in Erath & Cooke co, serious mesquite and honey locust, these work for me.

The mud won't stay in them....but I'll bet they sling the fool out of it...

Pricing will be key for this product.

They will have a cover around them, they won't be open. Still, I wonder what the ride is like when they start wearing out!

Dive off in some muddy blackland and those will pack full.

In 2005 I put a heavy dose of green slime in the tires of my new Grizzly 660. I ran em down the road immediately. They've been from Dickens, TX to Gatesville TX to Mena AR. Locust tree thorns, cactus thorns, sharp rocks, never a flat. I check the pressure occasionally and still don't know why I do since they never need air.

I've had the same experience.

I'll stay with the green slime. Those new airless tires look terrific, and I'm sure they'd work fine here in Central Texas, but I can just see em filling up with that Louisiana gumbo mud back where I grew up. You'd never sling that mud out of all the honeycomb holes and once it dried, your ATV would weigh about as much as my truck. If you've never been in that type mud, you won't understand.

I just wonder about the ride. regular tires take alot of the cushion as far as ride goes

Couple of points:

Even regular wheel combos fill up with mud given the right conditions, regardless of vehicle.

The whole premise of these tires is that not only do they not need air, but they are also shock absorbing. Hit a bump, at least some of the collected mud will get pushed/forced out.

Granted, they may not be the world's best mudder, but for thorns and rough terrain, I bet they're the Heat.

Like others have stated, they MUST be competitively priced with standard rubber, or they'll flop.

This concept has been around for years on skid steers. We tried them in our quarry years ago and the operators complained about the rough ride and they did not last half as long as the original tires. Maybe with the lighter weight of a quad it'll be better. I could see these being a hit in south Texas.

Fist thing I thought of when I saw them. A direct copy of rough riding skid steer tires.

If they ride rough I won't buy them when they come out. But I would pay extra for them and not worry about flats if they ride the same.

I know, I for one, would sure be willing to test them out for Polaris if they need real life Texas testing.
We ruin too many tires and get so many flats it's amazing. Mesquite thorns are tough ambres. Sharp rocks are worse.
We fill all our tires with slime (lots of it too)and we have found the best little tire plug tool in the world but we still get flats and/or cut tires to a point where we have to replace them with the sharp rocks and those bad spots that the thorns seem to find next to the tread.
I just hope these new concept tires are not cost prohibitive.
