Grandma still has some land in Jim Hogg county. I would love to head over there for some turkey hunting, as this is the first year that I have lived in reasonable driving distance, but I have zero idea if there are even any birds in that park of the world, and google didnt' help me much.

I haven't seen anything posted by people that are turkey hunting around Hebbronville. Do I have a chacne of seeing any turkeys out there? I think it's a half-section of land.

Could be wrong but there should be turkey in that part of Texas, whether there are turkey on the property or not is another question. Go hunting and find out.

Does anyone live on the ranch?
Who leases the grazing rights? You could call them and ask.

Take turkey calls and if nothing is happening, go to plan B and break out varmit calls.

Varmint calls or hunt Javelina, heck in that country a stray nilgai might stroll by.

No one lives out there, and I don't know enough about the land to know if we have it leased to anyone to run cattle.

Didn't want to bug grandma about getting out there if there was no point in going, but I like the varmit hunting backup plan.

My cousin did go out there once and shoot a couple of spikes a few years ago, and he said he didn't see any turkeys, but you know how turkeys in the fall/winter are, they can just flat out disappear.
