Yep. Just watch your distance and don't try and reach them out past 150. JMO

You can kill them with a .17, but it's definitely not the best tool for the job. That little shorty barreled gun you have would be better suited for bunny wabbits

Doesn't work for crap, on large coyotes during the winter with a thick coat, you will lose a lot of coyotes

Use a 20gr Gamepoint or Hornday XTP place the shot in kill zones and there out. Keep shots under 150 and its nighty night.

X2 on the kill zone I had four down under a feeder one night and by morning they had all crawled off. I only found one of the four and it was still alive I now only take head shots......

I've tried my .17 HMR on coyotes, perfect kill shot in the lungs, run off like nothing hit them, others went down in a short distance, others you can't find, if there is one I can't find with a perfect shot, then its not a capable cartridge

www.cartridgeconversion.comParticipating in a gun buyback program because you believe the criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you believe the neighbors have too many kids

Yep. Just watch your distance and don't try and reach them out past 150. JMO I would say closer to 100 is better. Things you have to realize - the Vmax is very frangible and only weighs 17 grains. If you hit a shoulder or even a rib, it's going to go into a million pieces. The CCI 20 grain hollow points are made to stay together, but still won't pass through a shoulder. Whack them in the head or neck and it shouldn't be a problem.

Works great as long as you shoot head or neck.

Close up head shot would be the only way. Wouldn't recommend it but good luck. I have shot a coyote square in the heart with a 22lr and he ran off like nobody's business. I also shot one with a 22 mag in the shoulder and he ran off. I would recommend a centerfire caliber from 22 to 243.
