Hey guys I've got a buddy that wants to send his 6 month old pup to school for hunting. Since I train my own and don't send them to school I don't know of any. Any thoughts or recommendations? Doesnt have to be South Texas but at least reasonably close!

I had good luck with Cibolo Creek Kennel. Just east of San Antonio 210.659.0914

Look up Ryckman Kennels in Boerne. He's located a few minutes from Bass Pro. He trained my brothers lab. I have a lab with him right now. I can't tell you anything about my lab yet but my brothers dog is awesome.

DOH!! Good point Mr. Bill, I was thinking upland, if it is a lab, her husband trains them. Big Foot Kennels.

Tell him to socialize the pup and just run it when he can. Start the training or breaking process in August. It takes about three months. The pup should be god to go this fall.

I have met both and am satisfied they are good folks..Ryckman also has a really well known snake clinic for dogs..if you have a
problem..I helped a friend deliver some feed yrs. ago to the trainer in Cibolo and he asked me to shoot some birds for his dogs..I'd never shot a pen raised quail back then..missed the heck out of them..shot over..too slow..but he had some dandy animals..and this was in the 80's..DD
