Lost my dove lease this past year and was wondering if anyone can tell me about the two TPWD dove hunt areas listed in Bexar County south of SA. Birds? Crowded? Worth it?

I'd say it's worth it for $45 you can hunt all season a day lease is $50-$100. It will be crowded the first two weekends then wide open any other time.

There weren't a lot of birds or hunting pressure there this season I work right across the street from one of them there were a few good spot on them again that was this year given some rain that could all change by sept

I feel like the public hunting license is worth it if you only use it once. I used mine a bunch hitting up the local dove fields in N TX.

Yea its definatly worth it. I never go to public on opening day or week cuz of the crowds. Otherwise i find the best times to go is like a tuesday. i have had great success. The only downer i see is the people who hunt these public leases leave all of their spent hulls and garage on the land. There was one lease north of fort worth that had cattle grazing on the field(no biggie) but the hunters left so many hulls on the ground you could see digested hulls in the cow poop. Other than that they are great!

I hunted there in September, shot one dove, saw very few others. There were plenty of people out there, but the sites are big enough that it doesn't get too crowded. It gets very muddy after rain, and it's early split only.
