Looking for a lead on a female springer spaniel pup. Thanks for your help.

Take your kids hunting and you won't have to go hunting for your kids

Go to a Springer Field Trial or get a hold of the folks in a Springer club. There is one in North Texas, and a couple in South Texas. Or we can help you if you give us more information. What are you wanting to do with the dog? Do you want a started dog or puppy?

Also, buyer beware that there are two different breeds of springers. Show and field. The difference is obvious if you look at pictures.

I got these from gundogbreeders.com When I was considering a springer these were frequently brought up. There are more but unless you feel like driving a very long way they are a bit far and would have to have one shipped.

Strong dog kennel south of Vivtoria.

Bill, are you referring to Strong Gundogs at Tivoli?
The have a website: stronggundogs.com

Looked 'em up because I was currently looking for something to "spell" my Millie (English Cocker) with in her flushing retrieving duties for next year, but I just stumbled on to an eleven week old uncle of hers that is available locally. I am going to go with him.

Good luck, Elkaholic I hope you find that little girl!

That's the one. David Jones is an old friend of mine.

I know all of those listed and am the outgoing president of the North Texas Sporting Spaniel Club. There are several resources but I would readily endorse David Jones also. He breeds and trains some of the best in the United States.
I will also add ... A true Field bred Springer is not going to be cheap. But it is worth every penny to get a good dog from a good breeder. The reputable ones will give you a written health and performance contract. If you would like to know and see more the club is having a practice day this weekend. If you come you will be hooked. Contact me by PM if you like.

Here is a picture of my latest pup ... Not your average Springer!
