yesterday morning early I took my boy out and we scouted a little for spring turkey season coming.
we had been hearing gobblers some lately and we always seem to have hens at our feeder every day or so.
for the first time, I used an electronic call having only used an old box call for years past.

It worked great, using a combination of hen clucks and an agressive tom, I had two of the nicest looking gobblers within 30 yards of us in about 15 minutes.
My son, who has never been on a turkey hunt, was so excited.

they got real close and strutted big time. Their heads were that pale whiteish blue color and the wattles on their beak was blood red. They wanted a fight!

after several minutes of no more calls, they lost interest and moved on. My boy came over from where he was hiding and gave me a fist bump

I'm going to get my decoys out of storage and when opening day comes we are going to be ready

It's always fun getting them toms fired up! Be careful though. I wouldn't make a habit out of doing this very often. They could get call shy.

Ditto. They'll wise up to that quick.
