Hi Everyone, I just decided to join this forum after viewing the pages off and on for the last few years. There is a wealth of knowledge about exotic hunting on this forum that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. I live up it Connecticut so my hunting options, experiences are limited compared to most people on this forum. What i am getting at is the last two years i shot a Corsican and painted dessert at two different preserves in Pennsylvania. I hunted with my girfriend and she shot two sheep as well. This year we decided to step up and go for Fallow Deer at a place in upstate New York near my grandfathers place. I shot a nice chocolate fallow for $1800, and my girlfriend shot a spotted fallow. What i am wondering is if it is a fair price for the size of the deer. Regardless i was happy because that was my first fallow and my girlfriends first buck.

Like was said, Welcome!
Nice deer and I agree that it sounds like you paid a fair price. The most important thing was that you were happy with your hunt.

Thanks for the input and the welcome greetings. It was fun hunting them in the snow, but then again i hunt in the snow alot. It was in the lower 20's and snowing off and on. When the deer i shot came in i tried to range find it since i was using my .30 carbine but the range finder was reflecting off the snow saying 3 yards. I guessed that he was 60 yards and I had to shot through a small opening in the evergreens which made it a hard shot. I put it into his boiler room and he went 40 yards. I also recovered the bullet after it broke through the opposite shoulder. I have the case/ bullet so i am thinking about how i can add that to the trophy. My girlfriend got hers with her 7mm-08, and it was her first buck so she is very happy. All in all I am very happy, and we have two nice deer at the taxidermist.
