On a cow what is consider to be a trophy length wise? Is 39.5 a good cow or a trophy?

Most hunters, outfitters, and books don't make any distinction between cows and bulls for Scimitars. Anything over 35/36" IMO is a very good oryx. Over 40" is exceptional.
But that's just me....

I would consider that a very good oryx and definantly trophy quality. With that lenght it should be close to gold medal sci especially if it is with a bow.

anything close to or over 40" is a really good oryx. If you have a 40" plus bull it's an exceptional bull. John is correct, there is no distinction between cows,bulls, or other classifications for the record books. Cows generally will be longer in length but lack the mass most bulls have.
