For the first time in 43 years, an English Setter has won the fabled National Championship in Grand Junction,TN. Shadow Oak
Bo tallied 7 finds and 3 backs in his 3 hour brace. Bo is owned by Butch Houston and handled by Robin Gates. The last setter to win this event was Johnnie Crockett back in 1970 and he was handled by Mr. W.C. Kirk from Bowie, Texas.

Nothing prettier in the field than a setter covering the field smartly, and displaying that beautifully feathered tail on point.
Congratulations to all involved!

I really like them all, but purchased a Gordon, because at my age
I'm too old to keep up with the type of Pointers we've bred the last 60yrs plus..and i like to watch them work, as well as kill birds..DD

There is no difference. The Lewellyn is an English Setter.

All Lewellyn setters are English Setters, but not all English setters are Lewellyns. Lewellyn setters can prove their lineage all the way back to a couple of strains started way back over in England. You can do a quick search on the net for the specific details.

Congratulations to Shadow Oak Bo. Nothing better than a good Setter!

Told ya SW, they are the same unless you are a seriuos Lywellan guy and then in their eyes there is a huge difference.

My only problem with setters is that they can develop a strong sense of entitlement...or at least mine has...she is currently on the couch as I type this watching project runway with my wife.

I own a Llewellin, like stated above, they are English Setters, but English Setters are not Llewellins. That being said, if you were to put them side by side you visually could not tell the difference. It's great to them them perform so well at the competition, so congrats to the winner.
