Sprig had a big first year as the duck dog for a very busy guide. Not even a year old, he sure got it done!!!! Sprig is from Rascal x Rusty's 2011 litter - Jump Start Academy. If I remember correctly, this pair hit a few rough spots in the beginning. Justin was very concerned about having a dog he "could be proud of" in front of customers and he worried that Sprig might not rise to the challenge. We worked thru some adjustments and it seems we have a very happy ending (or I guess it's really just the beginning!) Sounds like Justin is quite proud of his pup and I couldn't be more happy or proud, myself! Sprig's littermates include Nate Nelson's "Red", Ol_Yeller's "Jack", HardWired's "Wyatt" and my "Missy." CONGRATS TO JUSTIN & SPRIG!!!

Just got this email from Justin which brought a tear to my eye:

Dawn,

I just wanted to take the time to thank you!! Sprig is an amazing dog, he did SPECTACULAR for me this past year. I took him on several hunts and he not only impressed me but also impressed all the customers who hunted over him. For me to be able to guide hunts over him this year was more than I expected, I figured I would have to hunt with him a few times by myself to kinda show him the ropes, and then I would be able to guide over him next season but boy was I wrong! To top things off he is my best friend around the house as well, he even sleeps in my bed with me. Once again thank you for a great breeding program that you have! Here are just a few pics that I have of Sprig on some hunts that I guided this year, and you can always go to my facebook to see more.

P.S. I commented on your Iron Spike facebook a while back not sure if you got it.

Thanks for everything,
Justin

Great lookin' pup and an awesome first season!
Far as I'm concerned, that's been one heck of a litter!!

Care to share the name of the guide? Looks like I might need to book a trip!

Sure! Justin Devellier of Winnie, TX. I believe this is the website: http://www.thedrakeplantation.com/

Tell him you heard about him from me regarding a post about his dog.
