If anybody is interested in dove hunting during the south zone season then please pm me. We have 8,500 acres of farmland that is planted each year in corn, grain, cotton, and some sunflowers. Our family place receives very little to no hunting pressure. This would be a great hunt for a large group of friends or family members. Anyway good luck and good hunting.........

How close are the nearest hotels? Do you have any tanks on the properties? Thanks

Hey Bermise,

The nearest hotel is about 5-10 minutes away. We dont have any actual ponds, but we have about 12 different natural "low spots" that fill up with water when we get alot of rain, which we have been recieving over the past week. These low spots are anywhere from about 2- 50 acres in size, and fill up with ankle to knee high water. We should have standing water during bird season...... We also have 50+ miles of fence lines and brush lines. When I hunt I always set up along the fence/brush lines and catch the birds coming and going from the fields.

Thanks for your interest and let me know if you have any more questions.......

Rickod50,

The fields are about 45 west of Corpus Christi. Jim Wells county borders Nuecess county, which is where Corpus is located.

Guys I'd also be interested in doing a hunt trade, if anybody else would be interested. I wouldnt mind swapping an exotic, upland bird, or a trophy/management whitetail hunt for a group dove hunt on my place. Just let me know if your interested, or what you have in mind. Depending on the hunt that is being offered for trade, will determine how many guys we can get out here for a weekend dove hunt. I can easily handle 2-50 guys.

Thats alright Bermise, I hope everything is getting back to normal over there

We actually had a wonderful hunt, honestly I think its the best opening weekend we've had in a LONG time. Several of my buddies limited out in less than an hour. It was a fun hunt and the birds should be hanging around for awhile. I'm going back out on Thursday afternoon to see if their still hitting those sunflowers.
