Our luck continues.......

This is a good set I found. Great mass and tine length. Prolly would have been 135-140 class 8 pt.

I walked my backside off Saturday and found nada? Got pics of one deer that had shed one side last week. So back at it next weekend.

I dont feel the need to measure and prove my point to you. I find about 50-70 a year and hunt my butt off during the season.

I know how to score a set of sheds. I am saying 135-140 with a 16-18" avg spread.

nice.. So do you look in a certain area or just walk around till you find them?

Just scored them. 118" so with an 18" spread he should go 136". I am not an official scorer but I am usually close. I usually under estimate them for my own good.

Maybe a better view to give a better picture. 11 and 12" G2's.

The tape measure is out 14"

Mike,

The more you walk a place the better you zoom in on their bedding areas, feeding areas etc....and you don't waste time just walking around.

But the first few times you have to walk to find these areas. South facing slopes are good as they use these to get out of the N winds. Fence lines can be good as well. Don't get me wrong, walking is part of it but the more you study a place the easier you make it on yourself.

Those are nice sheds for sure. Do you have a dog that is trained to find sheds or do you just head out looking for them?
Reason I ask is because I've heard of people training there dogs to find them... thinking of doing that myself.

Those are nice! I'm trying to train my lab to shed hunt, but he probably won't be ready til next year.

I've found quite a few over the years, but have never found both sides near each other.
