Hey folks, May be looking to get a set of binoculars but don't know if it'll do me any good.
At the moment, I have a pair of compact 10x25 (?) from either tasco or bushnell. Served my needs just fine but I now see double with them. Clear, but double. They've been beat around a little and I thought that was the cause (and an "expert" confirmed it)..
Was gonna throw them away and the wife picked them up to look thru them. Told her they were broke, but she sees just fine with them. Took them to work and several people tried them and see just fine.
Anyone else had a similar problem? Or am I just gonna have to get a monocular?
Thanks.

Go look through some good binocs before you give up and get a monocular. As for which binocs, I'd say to get some 10x40 Nikon Monarch binocs for a starter pair. Good glass and reasonable price, and probably all the binocs that most folks would ever need. After that, if you turn into a 'binocular snob', like some of us, you can spend the big bucks on the German binocs.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Wife thought it'd be cute to let me worry a little and recruited my coworkers in the joke. Don't remember what I paid for these things close to 10 years ago, but they sell for about 13 bucks on amazon now.... Anything costs that much just gots ta be good huh??? Guess I'll start shopping. Gotta loosen the grip on the bucks I guess..... Them nikon monarchs cost more than I paid for my car....... I don't live far from the Zeiss factory, maybe I'll visit their seconds shop....

Daven,
I have hunted with a nice pair of Steiner Predators over the last decade. This past September, I decided to bite the bullet and buy some Zeiss Conquest HD's in 10x42.
NIGHT AND DAY Difference. I have to tell you its the best money I have spent in years for hunting and wildlife viewing.
They are awesome. Really worth the money I spent there.
Good luck.
