Got some shots of a nice bull sprig today while out checking areas for fresh yote tracks.

Thanks Eveyone! up

I'm having as much fun shooting them with the camera as I would be shooting them with the Benelli. Might have to put the gun down more next season and shoot more action shots during the hunts.

I'm shooting a Canon T3i with a Canon 70-200mm f/4 lens. I'll add a 1.5x extender to the lens for some shots, when I can't get closer to the birds. The 1.5x Extender makes the lens act like a 300mm, but kills some of the quality of the picture

How far away are these pics taken from? I found a canon t3i kit that come with a 50-300mm lens.

Most shots are 40-70 yards!

In the post below "Divers from Today" The Ringneck was 20 yards.

Do a search and read the reviews on the 50-300mm lens you are talking about. You might be better of buying a T3i kit with a 18-55mm lens, then looking for a used 200mm or bigger lens.

Ok thanks for the help. I've never really been into taking pics but all these awesome photos and abundance of ducks have me really intrigued. And if I'm gonna do it, I might as well do it right!

Many hunts this season that is all I saw was pintail, shot my 2 bird limit, all I could do was take pics all morning, and I took a bunch of pintails, but not as nice as yours, those some nice pics Mike. Interesting that first pic the sprig is not strait, I guess he slept on it wrong??? confused2 grin
