I shot a nice Nilgai bull this past week and am looking for suggestions on possible mount ideas. Everyone I have ever seen mounted has been a straight on shoulder mount. I would sure like to find a different or more unique mounting pose. Any creative idas? Habitat mounts?
Thanks
Gary

not very many forms on the market that's why the straight forward look on most mounts. Any form can be altered to any pose you wish including pedestal but this costs extra. Most folks are not willing to pay for the extra charge.

A wall pedestal with his head in a semi sneak with his ears pinned back would look great. I know Praseks outside of El Campo has one with long grass in its mouth. I've always thought that getting two bulls mounted in a fighting pose would be really cool. Since they dont have much headgear to show off, the mount would be more of an "art piece" and the taxidermist could focus more on the mounts and not on displaying the horns/antlers. Having one free floating off the wall would be really cool

Almost all my mounts these days are done with habitat or something unusual. I try not to mount much in just straight shoulder mounts.
Any photos anyone has would be appreciated.
I think I drive my taxidermist nuts sometimes looking for creative and different ideas.

If you want to drop some coin get a life size mount and cut off what you want to make a bigger cooler wall pedistal to put it on if you saved enough cape.... Im plannning on this idea for a WT this year if i break over 200" mark. I saw a plain wall ped. that looked really sharp on a big blue bull like yours, mine is straight old plain jane and regret it but that was 15 years ago almost.

I saw some photos from another THF memeber on a wall pedestal mount that look really good.
Also, I really like a head turn on many of the larger animals and was thinking of trying it with this Nilgai. Not sure a form is even available
