I just returned from South Texas where we hunted Nilgai for a couple of days. Big tough animals to hunt, I had a great hunt

Beautiful I love the dark colored bulls. Conrats!

I won't shoot another bull unless he's a really dark one.

The only one I have ever seen was about the color of a white tail. That dark color is impressive. Good job.

I did end up seeing a lot of different Nilgai and quite a few bulls but it was pretty hot the first afternoon, about 92 degrees and not much was moving early as we walked several big sections of the ranch but as it got closer to 5:00 PM alot of anaimals started to materialize...
This ranch is 30,000 acres and has a lot of Nilgai on it. After I shot this bull and we were driving back to the camp and we saw a bunch of Nilgai's running around and quite a few really mature bulls.
This hunt was very much like hunting in Africa, drive around on a high rack truck, looking, spotting and then we slowly walked for miles thru all the sandy brushy terrian, into the wind, trying to locate a big bull. After two hours of walking we finally spotted this bull about 150 yds away and we were lucky enough to spot him before he spotted us. They are a very spooky animal and hard to get close to. But we were able to get one good shot on him and only had to track him about 30 yds.
It made for a great hunt.
The outfitter I used is called All Seasons Guide Service and they are out of Victoria, TX. The actual ranch we hunted on is in Raymondville, TX.
The guides were awesome and really knew their stuff, I was impressed, one of the best hunts I have been on in quite a while.
