We have several fox on the place and they have their pups every year within a few hundred yards of the house. When we throw food out back, they come in and scrounge it, although it isn't very often. They will eat enchaladas, hot dogs, squash, and any meat products thrown across our backyard fence. Two weeks ago I dressed out two feral pigs and threw out the bones with a goodly amount of meat on them. The fox and coyotes will not touch these. We've thrown balogna to the side of this banquet and they eat the balogna but will not touch the pig meat. Anyone with any ideas WHY?

Do they happen to all get together and pray in the same direction about five times day?

I don't know why but we have noticed the same thing. We only had one hog that the vultures took care of, nothing touched the other hogs.

yep, if I kill a pig friday night, I usually go back sunday afternoon to pick up the skull, sometimes it has been picked clean by the next day. More from buzzards than yotes and foxes I would imagine though.

I can see a fox not messing with it but we bait yotes with hogs and have good success doing so.

I have lost three hogs to yotes
They hit a pine patch and hunting solo I will not enter.
I am hunting only with a crossbow.
Landowner says to many cows to hunt with fire arms.
Have went in during daylight the following morn to find parts.

The buzzards will eat anything that gets thrown out including the pigs. Maybe something with the praying 5 times a day because I found several little mats laying out there, think maybe they are the prayer mats? They don't wear the little skull caps so I don't really think they are Jewish.

Hey, love that pig meat. All 4 front quarters have already been cooked up whole. Neighbors of ours needed some meat so the front quarters went to them first. That is the good thing about feral hogs, they just keep on giving.

I left a game camera over a pig carcass to see what would eat it. Here's what I got...

It has to do with you providing them with the processed supplements, which has now turned into their entitlements. However, should the fiscal cliff not be postponed, once again, you should see a drastic change in behavior come March 2nd?

I have killed hogs and put game cameras up on them. The yotes will come in smell it and never take a bite, dont know why, but the vultures pick em clean. Have had pics of hogs eating the dead hogs quite often though

BigAbner, I gave away the front quarters to a neighbor but make your way down here and we'll cook up a hind quarter.

Don't know about foxes but in my neck of the woods the yotes eat the heck out of our pigs.

I find it strange that sometimes yotes eat the heck out of hogs and other other times they seem to have no real interest in eating one.
