What should be my target price for a dealer purchase of a new 2013 Polaris Sportsman XP 850 HO with EPS? DFW area.

Will paying cash help? Are accessories negotiable as well? The only item of interest is a winch. Do ATVs need registered like automobiles?

Many thanks - Mickey

No on registration in Texas. Some states require it though. I bought mine DEC 31 2011 and they cut me a heck of deal. I think at times like that is when you can get the most negotiating power. I paid 6k ramps and TTL for a new Polaris 500 HO. So depending on the time that you buy you can probably get them to pitch in a winch.

Thanks for the response, thewrap.

It'll be in the next few weeks. Guess I'll roll out to a few around DFW, lay out cash and then work in a winch.

Hopefully I'll be able to head straight out to my new lease to take a riding tour.

Looking in my new addition of Texas Co-Op Power, there is the usual ad for Hoffpauir Polaris in Goldthwaite. The 2012 Sportsman 500 H.O. is listed at $5,183.

The 2012 500 Crew Ranger in Camo is listed at $10,199 btw.

At that price it's pretty tempting but I'm too set on the 850. Though I am looking for deals on new 2012s too.

Hoffpauir says the '13 850 XP HO EPS is on sale for $8994 (before dealer prep, title, tax). Discouraging. Maybe I am expecting too much?? Surely they can be had for less than that.

MM,

I knew you were looking for the bad@$$ one, just posted those prices as reference for you.

Several years back I bought a 500 H.O. EFI at Groom's in Rocksprings during the middle of a hunting trip. I was in a bind and needed one. I thought I got a great deal though. I paid $5,900 out the door, no taxes. This was a 2009 in December of 2008 I believe.

Good luck on finding a good deal and post pictures when you do.

Tim

depends on who you use, buy out of state and you dont pay tax and usually a better deal. when I bought my rhino I got it in oklahoma, paid no tax and $1k less than the cheapest place I could find in texas. I did get a polaris from a shop in ennis several years back and they made me a smoking deal on it so if they are open still, might give them a shot. If you get outside of the dfw area seems they are willing to work on price a little more.

PM John Russell. He got a pretty good price on his Ranger. Get a rancher to buy it for you. They don't pay sales tax.

Don't know any ranchers but buying out of state is a very viable option. Would be nice to save the tax.

I have a 2010 850 xp with power steering and a warn winch just sitting in garage I'd consider selling if your interested. Pm me if so. Either way you will love the 850. It's a joy to ride and will do anything you ask it to.
