TG "Mattie" Ross 6 weeks and finally at her new forever home. Excited, but not for the next few days of anxiety separation.

Yes Dawn she does. She is a DEMON BITCH!!!! Greg and Labpoint both said she looks sassy. That aint the half of it. Nothing like any other lab I have ever had, especially my last one. Night and day. I dont know if its the british breed, but I really dont care for it. Maybe she'll grow out it, and I hope so, because my wife really aint happy. The biting is hard as heck. I know puppies do this so I'm fine for now, but dang. She does not like to be held. Petting is very limited. She has started to retrieve a small bumper, but SHE has to be in the mood. If she doesnt go after it, I just pick it up. Doesnt hang out with family. She's biting on you or she goes and gets her kennel to sleep. Flower beds will have nothing left by summer, etc. Prefers outside, but she is a dog. If I knew these traits ahead of time, I would not have gotten the dog, period. I dont think Ricky did a good job of matching breeding to what I told him I wanted. I sure hope things will change.

Brits (well bred) should have a ton of drive and energy, but easily redirected due to a strong ability to focus. Complimentary temperaments is always my FIRST consideration, even over drive - so they can focus and learn. Not everyone approaches it this way - opting more towards accumulating titles on the pedigree. Titles are great, but there's more to a dog. Other than that, I can't/won't speak to someone else's breeding program.
By "biting" I'll bet you mean those tiny, rapid repeat nips with the front teeth. Moves full tilt or not at all, right? Jump - jump - JUMP... lots of wiggling and energy. Crating goes a long way to rein in her focus and let her know who is in control of her world. And if she can't have her own brand of fun whenever she wants to, you'll get more retrieving out of her. If she's got Craighorn, Remus and/or Drakeshead in her, she can become a retrieving machine.
Holler at me if you think I can help. I love working with the Brits and I've trained a number of Ricky's dogs. Is she out of Kech x Blaze? If so, I'm pretty familiar with Blaze pups.

It is a Kech and Blaze litter. Yes she has a lot of Drakeshead along with Craighorn and Remus. Then again, I guess you are familiar with mom and dad already
