Here are the rules in text form for the Blanket, TX contest. These rules may change without notice.

Contests will be held regardless of weather. If no one shows up then the contest will be cancelled.

Point System:
Red Fox - 5
Bobcat - 4
Coyote - 3
Gray Fox - 2
Raccoon - 1

Animal Limits:
Total of 7 animal limit for each species except raccoons (limit 5). After your limit is reached, each additional animal is counted as 1 point. There are no additional points awarded for raccoons after limit of 5 is reached.

Payout:
5 Teams or Less - Pays 1st Place Only - 100%
6 -10 Teams - Pays 1st & 2nd Place - 60/40
11 + Teams - Pays 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place - 50/30/20

If there is a tie in points, the team with the most varmints wins. If these teams have the same amount of varmints, then the tiebreaker will be the heaviest animal.

Entry Fee: $100.00 per team (up to 4 person team) 100% Payback

Jackpots: Heaviest Red Fox, Bobcat, Coyote, Gray Fox & Raccoon. There will also be a highest number of varmints jackpot (over limit animals included). Each jackpot category is $10.00. If a jackpot is not won, the money will carry over to the next contest.

Contest Boundaries: Statewide

Total Entry plus all jackpots = $160.00 per team MUST BE PAID IN CASH

Contest Rules:
PLEASE DO NOT SCREW UP THE CONTEST FOR EVERYONE ELSE!! WE ARE DOING THIS FOR
FUN AND ANY ISSUES THAT ARISE WILL DIRECTLY AFFECT THE FUTURE CONTESTS!!

Each team must designate a captain. The captain will speak on behalf of team if issues arise.
All team members must have a valid hunting license
All animals must be called in and shot during contest hours
Team members must hunt together at all times
Can hunt from ATV
Only hunters entered in the contest may hunt
No pooling of animals
No night vision
Animals may be checked for trap marks and freshness
No hunting over intentionally baited areas
Anyone caught cheating will cause their team to forfeit and lose all entry fee & jackpot fees
All hunters must be present at check in or team forfeits - NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Each team is responsible for disposal of their animals
Ties are broke by heaviest animal or most animals
A limit of 5 raccoons for any and all jackpots
Polygraph will be enforced at all contests.

POLYGRAPH GUIDELINES: 1st place team will take the polygraph. This may include the entire team or 1 person drawn from that team. All other people in the money pool (jackpots included) will be placed in a pool and drawn at random for the 2nd test. There may be additional tests if needed.

MUST FOLLOW ALL STATE/FEDERAL LAWS AND STATE/FEDERAL GAME LAWS

Sounds like a great hunt,well thought out and with realistic / fair rules. Just where is Blanket Texas???????? Wish there were more local contests around here.

Next year!!!!! Just wondering what everyone thinks. Assuming The big bobcat and Graham hunt are the same weekend on best moon, you all that hunt those. Would you hunt the Blanket contest if we held it the week before or after, whatever was better??? We want to make this contest one of the best in texas. Any input will be helpfull. Thanks!!!
