Glad you got your gun back...welcome to THF..

Nice, like that moment in the stand when you wait before walking over to check out your trophy. The wait is worth the reward.

So how long do you think it will take the F-in ATF to give the gun back? Months and months like it takes them to do everything else? There's no real reason why they couldn't just hand it over right away. I mean there are BS made up red tape reasons, but there are no actual real reasons.

A friend in the hill country went through the same thing a year ago, ATF still has his rifle. He's suppose to get it back after the court case goes to trial and convicted!

I agree. If anyone steals one of my firearms that's the way I'm going to handle it. It's almost like the rifle went from one thief to another, except the AFT is going to hold it in the name of the law. The only thing about kicking his [censored] and taking the rifle back is that if I get caught taking the law into my own hands like that is its ME that's going to be on trial. It sucks that our country is so backwards like that, but that's the way it is.

I'll pass along 'KUDOS' for all those who helped in this endeavor. Got to praise the OP for posting up and trusting his instincts to get our eyes out there.

Thanks again to all those that assisted in helping get a bad guy off the streets, and a rifle returned to it's rightful owner.
A thank you thread has been posted here.

Man that is AWESOME news. Just made my morning.
The ATF will need the rifle as evidence for the D-Bag's trial. It really does suck that they will hold it for that length of time but the upshot is... He WILL get it back. He will get to shoot his rifle again and this friggin moron will not be stealing anybody else's gun for a long time. I was looking at all those mug shots and I wondered if it ever dawned on this guy... 'Hey, I'm really not very good at this thieving thing. I keep getting caught. Maybe I should give it up.'
Hahahahaa... Nope.... Too stupid for that kind of thought. We should all be grateful that these thieves are as stupid as they are.
Score one for the good guys... Great Job THFers!!!

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

He probably never had a good positive influence growing up. Another reason to take a kid hunting/fishing. This is an example of how NOT to live your life. Go out and earn everything you get and live a guilt free life. I pray this yahoo gets put away and he gets clean and sober

I love it I got off the phone with the local PD yesterday and didn't post since he asked me to be quiet about it online while they worked it out. Love that this had a happy ending for your cousin!

Are you and your cousin going to go to the trial and eat popcorn and smile at sentencing I hope smile

You must have missed the Dolphin Tattoo one.

Or the Barkeep commandeering East's signon one. Why do all of the good ones always involve East??
