Picked up my JBIArmory LK-09 yesterday and got it to the range today. It's a Bulgarian kit, Nodak spud receiver, 8" barrel, QD trunion, H&K front sight. I was dead set on SBRing it but I'm actually contemplating leaving as a pistol. Shot it with Magpul MS3 sling today and it wasn't too bad. I'm still debating though. I'll probably add a short AK brake and maybe Hogue grip, but other than that, it works fine as is.

Jim does some awesome work. He's super busy but his workmanship is well worth the wait. I would definitely recommend him and I'll be going to him for all my AK needs.

Here's a few glamour shots and target pic at 15 yards:

I've never shot one of these. What's the easiest way to aim? Do you hold it at arms length like a pistol with both hands on the pistol grip? Or, one on the grip, and one on the forend?

First time I've ever shot a rifle caliber pistol. With an AR pistol you typically have a buffer tube that you can stick into your shoulder. But with AK pistol there's nothing. Shooting it with extended arms felt kinda weird. But when you do it with a single point sling, you can actually stabilize it fairly well.

That looks awesome. Is it 7.62X39? Those holes look small for a 30cal.

get a forehandle or grip. You dont want your sweaty hands slipping off and loosing 2-3 fingers.

You can get you a MagPul AFG and put on it for a little more grip.

$800 isn't a bad price. Are there options for a front 4-rail setup?

Considering WASRs are selling for over $500 id say $800 for a custom AK is awesome!

Very nice, here's mine. Just a Draco with US Palm grip, and M.I. rail.
