I hunted all weekend in Nocona by the lake. I went out Sunday am sat in a pop up. 7:00 am I had a 8pt(3 year old) come in tending 3 does. He ate some corn for about 20 mins and started chasing the largest doe. The 2 does remaining continued eating. The does suddenly threw their heads up and bolted. Then walked in Mr. Big! Huge 8pt with high rack. He looked right at the pop up and turned back into the brush after the does. He popped out and I took the shot. He jumped and kicked. I went down to find hair and no blood. I looked for him a while and had no luck. I looked on THF website for the deer finder for Montague county and called the number. I got no answer, left a message and got no response back. Then I had to leave to go back to work in south Texas. Anyone have a deer finder in Montague County ? Are they reliable? I

Are you sure there was zero blood? Without any bloody at all I'd question my shot.

I am a local. I will ask around and see who might have a tracking dog. I saw an ad a couple weeks back in the Montgague County shopper. I threw the shopper away, but I believe the guy was from Bowie.

Did some checking for a deer tracker. Best bet would be James Willard. James works at the Montague County Abstract Co. and the office phone number is 940-894-2781. I have known him for years and he is a hard core hunter and a good guy. Good luck.
